High Level Itinerary: 

Day 1 – Auckland, New Zealand: Arrive in New Zealand. Join everyone for a Welcome Dinner.

Day 2 – Auckland, New Zealand: Private Full Day Tour – Taste of Auckland Day Tour. Auckland Highlights combined with Kumeu Wine Country with Lunch. Auckland is set on over 50 dormant volcanic cones and between two harbors, the sparkling Waitemata and the brooding Manukau. Known as the City of Sails, it’s New Zealand’s largest and busiest city. Your morning tour is a journey of discovery designed to explore the history and sights as well as see how Aucklanders live and play.
In the afternoon, leave behind the bustle of Auckland city and head northwest to taste the flavours of Kumeu Wine Country, Auckland’s Heritage Wine Region. Enjoy lunch at a contemporary vineyard bistro, sample world renowned wines and marvel at the rugged surf-fringed coastline nearby.

On the Shuttle: Join your personal sommelier, Nick Elliott, for an engaging and lively discussion on New Zealand wines and the rich history of winemaking in the region. Enjoy fascinating insights, fun anecdotes, and expert knowledge, followed by an interactive Q&A session.

Day 3 – Waiheke Island, New Zealand: Waiheke Island Private Gourmet Food and Wine Tour.  At Lunch: Join Nick for an interactive food and wine pairing demonstration, where you’ll explore the science behind enjoying food with wine. Drawing from his experience in producing extra virgin olive oil, Nick will add depth and insight to your olive oil mill experience, bringing flavors to life in a whole new way. 

Day 4 – Auckland to Waitomo, Waitomo to Rotorua, New Zealand: Visit the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, then enjoy a totally Maori experience  with the ‘Te Pā Tū Evening Māori Cultural Experience’ – Dinner Included. Kia Ora with a Sommelier: An introduction to regional wines, discussing the impact of limestone soils on flavor. (A private space is reserved pre dinner for this event. 45-60 minutes. Guests provide their own wine) 

Day 5 – Rotorua to Napier, New Zealand:  Explore Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, a spectacular showcase of New Zealand’s colorful and unique geothermal elements sculpted by thousands of years of volcanic activity before moving onward to the Art Deco town of Napier. Lunch: Join Nick for (optional) Lunch and Learn (Guests provide their own food & wine)

Day 6 – Napier, New Zealand:  Visit 4 wineries in the Hawkes Bay region of New Zealand. At the Wineries: Join Nick for an informal Q&A, where you can ask all your wine-related questions while enjoying fun anecdotes and behind-the-scenes stories from the vineyard.

Day 7 – Napier to Martinborough, New Zealand:  Visit two local wineries in the region before settling in for the night in Martinborough. Lunch: Join Nick for (optional) Lunch and Learn – Pairing Wine & Cheese (Guests provide their own food & wine) Takeaway Resource: A Guide to Pairing Cheese & Wine 

Day 8 – Martinborough to Wellington, New Zealand: Enjoy a leisurely morning in Martinborough before departing for Wellington. Upon arrival into Wellington you have the afternoon to freely explore the city. Lunch: Join Nick for (optional) Lunch and Learn (Topic TBD) (Guests provide their own food & wine)

Day 9 – Wellington, New Zealand:  This morning is filled with a half day tour of Wellington. Lunch: Join Nick for (optional) Lunch and Learn (Topic TBD) (Guests provide their own food & wine).  The afternoon is yours to spend as you wish.

Day 10 – Farewell New Zealand:  Today your tour ends and it is time to fly back to the USA.
